Five FVMC members, CS, ARod, ARob, EA & new member DM, met at the beginning of the driveway into Auchessan, NN 448 276; their objectives were Corbett Beinn nam Imirean, NN 419 309 and Munro Meall Ghlas, NN 431 322. All achieved with favourable weather, interesting boulders with nestling plants and moody views on the descent.

After going north via the bridge over the river Dochart to the farms and the track beyond, they headed in a general NW direction, over bumpy heather, to the lochan about 0.25km SE of Beinn nam Imirean and then the top itself, as pictured.

There followed a descent to the NE of about 200m before an ascent of around 300m to Meall Glas, finding on route an odd collection of large boulders.

In amongst them lichen called 'Devils Matchsticks’. The ends of the projections usually go red when fully mature.

Life at the top is easy…especially when it’s followed by a straightforward route back to the car.

A moody view looking south to Glen Dochart from the descent route. A good day out and the group were pleased to welcome along new member DM.
