The July meet was a long weekend based on the relatively new bunkhouse on Rum accessed via Cal-Mac's MV Lochnevis.
Ten members gathered at Mallaig ahead of the mid-afternoon sailing on the Friday, all eagerly anticipating a meet with a certain ''je ne sais quois'' - that's a nod to Malcolm's French pal Phillippe who joined us on this trip.
Ambitious plans for full traverses of the fabulous Rum Cuillin wered hatched and some came to fruition over the weekend whilst others did not quite come off.
Saturday dawned a bit murky but the cloud lifted by mid-afternoon, Sunday was a blue sky day as was Monday.
In the event hills climbed were Hallival, Askival, Barkeval, Trollaval and Ainshval from the Cuillin group whilst the rather more remote Fionchra and Orval were also tackled successfully.
All in all a successful trip to the excellent community trust owned bunkhouse.
