Weekend Meet: 10th-12th October, 2025 – Alex MacIntyre Memorial Hut, Onich, Fort William

5 FVMC members attended the weekend meet in October: IH, LA, SP, CS & MMon.  A variety of hills were climbed in Ardgour, accessed via the Corran ferry; the Mamores; Glen Coe and in Tyndrum. Cloudy and in some cases wet weather prevailed on the Saturday, followed by clear skies and cloud inversions on the Sunday.


Day 1 – Saturday, October 11th

SP & MMon – Binnein Beag from Kinlochleven, an out and back route ascending east from Kinlochleven past Coire an Lochain which lies at the bealach between Sgor Eilde Beag and Sgor Eilde Mor, and then north to Binnein Beag.

IH: Carn Na Nathrach (Corbett – Ardgour) starting  from Loch Doilet, heading east towards Glen Hurich, climbing west ridge of Beinn Mheadhoin and then onto Carn Na Nathrach. Returned via outward route.

LA & CS:  Misty conditions did not prevent smiles on Stob Coire a Chearcail (Corbett) in Ardgour.

Day 2 -  Sunday, 12th October

MMon: Beinn Dubhcraig (Munro) from Tyndrum.

IH and CS: Members were treated to Brocken spectres during their ascent of Sgurr Dhomhnuill (Corbett), Ardgour.

LA: Ascended Meall Mor (Graham), Glencoe.

SP: Stob Coire Sgreamhach (Munro) via Sron na Larig (scramble), descending via Beinn Fhada, Glen Coe.
