Attendees: BR, MMcE, MMon, CS, SP, PF, TF, AS, IH

Nine club members attended the March weekend meet at Àite Cruinnihidh Hostel in Roy Bridge. High wind, rain and poor visibility were forecast: the triad of conditions the outdoor enthusiasts get out of bed for. The redoubtable club members completed several walks over the weekend including a Corbett, Graham and a few lower-level excursions, observing snow covered mountains amidst the welcome sunny spells.

Friday 13th

IH: Meall an Phubuill (Corbett, Glen Loy, near Fort William)

Initially the weather was sunny but deteriorated on the ridge near the summit, culminating in strong winds and reduced visibility.  A tactical retreat was enacted, saving the hill for another day.

MMcE: Binnien Shuas (Graham)

Initially sunny, but hail and snow showers took over. The route consisted of soft and slippy snow. It was very windy at the rocky summit resulting in a crawl to the top; the summit photo was taken on the knees. After inching off using the derriere, the sun came out on the descent followed by another snow shower once back on the access track.

Saturday 14th

Group 1 - AS, PF and MMcE: Beinn Gucaig (Graham)

The group parked at Inchree forest and followed the waymarked track, until it intersected a rough quad bike track heading in the right direction up the long south ridge. The quad bike track turned to path, but it was much better than rough heather. Good views of Loch Linnhe, Ardgour hills, Ballachulish horseshoe and Mamores between heavy showers. Thicker snow after subsidiary top at 575 m and then onto the 616 m summit.
