Friday, April 10th
Two groups of hikers got in some walking on the way to the hut.
CS and MMcE went up Creag Dubh at Newtonmore. “We walked south along the road for a short distance, then found a lovely access path through old woodlands. We just had to stoop a bit. Up along ridge with great views. Tiny scramble around 'pile of stones' on ridge. Back same route via monument on smaller attached hill. Again, great views from here. Wild goats and climbers spotted on crags below.”

After getting the train up to Kincraig, MMon rode his bike out to Meallach Mhor in Glen Tromie, and was treated to some lovely views of the Cairngorms.

Saturday, April 11th
Five groups were out and about for the day.
MMon, TF & SP summited Carn Liath (Munro), parking at Aberader forest (Creag Meagaidh). They had originally considered continuing along the ridge to Stob Poite Coire Ardair, but having been almost blown off the top, they decided better of it, and re-descended the way they came.

MMcE & CS: Carn nan Tri-tighearnan from Drynachan lodge
"We ventured north over the burnt Dava Moor to climb graham Carn nan Tri-tighearnan from Daless near Drynachan Lodge. Two ford crossings, a steep track up a lot of the height of the hill took us to near sub top Carn an Uillt Bhric. Which we had to visit first, with views over to the sand spit at Findhorn. A longer than it looked route over many peat hags then took us to the grahams summit trig. Great views, a blue sky, just a bit windy. Red squirrels, hares and a Red Kite spotted. A lovely, lovely glen."

PF & AS met up with a pal, and hiked Geal Charn (corbett) from Dorback Lodge near Nethy Bridge.

CM & IH hiked Creag Liath (743m), NE of Newtonmore.

IM cycled down Glen Tromie to Bran Cottage.
Sunday, April 12th
Two groups managed to get out for another day of walking before heading back south down the road.
MMcE & CS summited and then circumnavigating Creag Beag.

SP & TF had a wet and windy summit of Gael Charn (Corbett) from Lynwilg distillery. This prompted a rapid descent (round trip in 3 hours!), but no pictures were taken.
