This was the second club camping meet of the year so far; this time at Bunroy Park, Roy bridge Fort William www.bunroypark.co.uK .
Friday 16/07/21: During the afternoon on route to Roybridge, MMcE stopped at Inverlair on road to Fersit, to steal a Graham, Cnap Cruinn. This featured a walk up the track at Inverlair, marked as East Highland Way, then a couple of left turns and out of the trees. (A lot had been felled.) Across bog and up steep sides to prominent cairn at edge of slope and summit beyond. Lots of flowers and just a few clegs! Summit Cairn was easily found, but the second top of Beinn Chlianaig was not so straightforward as mist had descended. Finally, a lovely walk off down stalkers track back to car.

Sgurr Innes in view from track.

Hoverflies on a thistle.

Sundew.

Cnap Cruinn summit cairn, a bit smaller than previous cairn.

Beinn Chlianaig, second top in mist…wasn't notable

The return journey to the car brightened up as the mist lifted.
Saturday 17/08/21: AR, MM, GB and MMcE headed to Glen Roy to catch the twin Carn Dearg Corbetts. Parking near Brae Roy lodge they walked up Glen Turret into Gleann Eachach, up a faint stalkers path then steeply up onto the first Carn Dearg on the west of the glen. They then headed back directly to the coll and up to the smaller eastern Carn Dearg, thereafter descending into Glen Turret and back along the track to the parking. One possible golden eagle sighting but too far away to confirm. Lots of mist up top, but it broke to allow some views.

Two young male mallards wanted to join too but the FVMC have restrictions on those with webbed feet.

Towards ruin at start of Gleann Eachach.

At the misty summit of Carn Dearg (west) 815m, there was a competition to see who could be the first to order pizza.

At the second summit. Everyone is looking this time!

On the track going back.
Sunday 18/07/21: Back in Glen Roy. AR, MM & MMcE went off to climb the Graham Leana Mhor (east of Glen Roy), thereafter AR & MM headed to the nearby Carn Dearg. A hidden stalkers path led to the River Roy and a non-existent bridge followed by a quick paddle over the river near a lovely pool. This was only easy as river levels were low. Another stalkers path took them to a deer fence. Once over the fence they ascended easy grassy slopes to the summit. Lovely views and the Grey Corries eventually cleared to show the remaining snow. After a cuppa at the summit AR and MM went on to Carn Dearg, whilst MMcE returned to the car. A great weekend had by all.
