It’s been a while since the club has been at Mol Mor, see, Mol Mor, Torridon | National Trust for Scotland (nts.org.uk). A comfortable hut in a wonderful setting.

A damp start to Saturday but cloud high enough to leave the Fiona, An Ruadh-mheallan NG 83620 61523, clear of cloud. It’s a small gem to the west of Beinn Alligin. Parking at a viewpoint on the Diabaig road above Loch Diabaigas Airde, CS & MMcE, set off over terrain with only deer tracks, passing numerous wee lochans. Pic shows a glimpse of Loch Torridon to the south.

A view of Liathach, NG 91537 57721, to the SE.

CS on the steepest section.

Nearby Beinn Alligin, NG 86306 60278, to the SE.

Distant Baosbheinn, NG 87052 65376 to the NE.

Spiky lichen.

On the following Sunday after and early start, CS MMcE, AS & Harry ascended Beinn Damh, NG 89255 50189, by firstwinding through gorgeous Caledonian pine trees before hitting the hillside and onto the coll, NG 87593 51765, between Sgurr na Bana Mholaire (north top) and the ridge up Beinn Damh itself. Pic shows the route up through the pine forest beside Allt Coire Roill.

Views of Liathach through Caledonian pines.

At the track bifurcation. Ahead to Maol Chean Dearg, right to Beinn Damh.

Beinn Damh reflected in a lochan.

Maol Chean dearg, NG 92441 49909.

The view back along the ridge to the NW with Harry & CS having some lunch.

All the peaks to the east.

Looking down to Torridon on the way back.
