18-19/08/23 Weekend Meet: Forest Way Bunkouse, Lael Forest, Lochbroom.

FVMC weekend at Forest Way Bunkhouse south of Ullapool, NH 19463 81038, with ARob, ARod, EA, CS, GG, PF & MMcE.

On Friday 18/08/23 PB, on route to the meet, went to Strathconon near Garve and Climbed 2 Corbetts, Meall nan Eun, NH 26360 54517 and Sgurr a’Mhuillinn, NH 26460 55764, from Strathanmore, NH 29468 54571. Pic shows the approach to Meall nan Eun from it’s ESE shoulder.

On the following day 19/08 PB climbed the Corbett Canisp, NC 20311 18752, starting from the road at NC 24981 15980. The visibility was poor at the top.

…but during the descent he did get a good view to the north of Corbetts Quinag, NC 19845 30442 and Glas Bheinn, NC 25492 26558.

Also on Saturday 19/08 MMcE, ARob, EA, CS & Harry the Dog headed to the Corbett Sail Mhor, NH 03294 88714, on the south side of Little Loch Broom. Lots of waterfall along the way.

…and a magic rainbow to finish the day.

On the Sunday, 20/08, PB went with ARob to Torridon and climbed Corbett Beinn Damph, NG 89259 50209, from the Torridon Hotel, NG 88724 54143. ARob seen here NW of the summit.

Typical! The top was clear until the last few metres when cloud came in so nae views again. However the remaining day was grand.

Also on Sunday 20/08, MMcE, & EA decided to do 3 x Munros in the Beinn Dearg group; Beinn Dearg, NH 25954 81227, Cona Mheall, NH 27503 81705 & Meall nan Ceapraichean, NH 25729 82552. Pic shows the route to Beinn Dearg.

Having reached the summit of Beinn Dearg they descended NE to make their approach to Cona Mheall. On the way they experienced the magnificent view SE down to Loch a Coire Ghranda, NH 26964 80594.
