The weekend meet for May took place at the Knoydart Foundation’s bunkhouse https://knoydart.org/knoydart-bunkhouse/. The club has visited this location many times before. Fine weather that weekend delighted the ten members.

One of our members, MM, had arrived at Knoydart a day earlier on 23/05, planning a wee walk for Friday 24/05. His objective was to walk from the Knoydart Foundation Bunkhouse, NM 77541 99379 to the Corbett Beinn Aodainn (Ben Aden), NM 89917 98663. His route covered various sections;

·         Headed east via Gleann Meadail up to Mam Meadail.

·         Descended SE to the River Carnoch, crossing to ascend Allt Achadh a Ghlinne.

·         Continued east up to a point on the ridge west of spot height 717 (back at the hostel he firmly did not recommend this particular route because of the exposure, but he had been forced to continue as it was a safer option than descending!).

·         Headed west to ascend Beinn Aodainn (see pic)

·         Descended east to Loch Quoich.

·         Followed path NW to Ambraigh.

·         Ascended path SW to Mam Barrisdale.

·         Continued SW back to Inverie hostel.

He covered approximately 23 miles (37km), a height gain of 2650 metres, in a time of about 12 hours.
