December 2016 Weekend Meet: Inverardran Cottage, Crianlarch

Half a dozen members assembled at the Ochils MC hut at Inverardran Cottage, Crianlarich, for the first weekend in the month.

Amazingly, we struck lucky with the early winter weather and three off us enjoyed an ascent of Ben Cruachan and its western top, Stob Dearg. It was fairly mild in the valleys but the top five hundred feet or so were a wee bit tricky with a light dusting of snow filling the hollows between the granite boulders and a little ice to contend with as well. Got back down just before dark after a good day with high cloud and pretty reasonable views all round.

Two other members followed us round to Dalmally and climbed Cruachan's wee brother, Beinn a Bhuiridh.
