With more COVID restrictions looming, FVMC members get some more activity out of the last week in October and first week of November.
First up ARob catches a break in the weather and heads east of Loch Voil to ascend Stob a Choin, helped by the new bridge over the river Voil at Inverlochlarig. The pics show great views from the N top, followed by a walk to Bealach Coire an Laoigh, over Meall Reamhar to summit Creag nan Saighead before descending the slippy slopes.

Access easier now with the bridge at Inverlochlarig.

Looking toward Beinn a Chroin, SE of An Caisteal.
Next we have MMcE & RP testing her sore feet on a short hill day; Beinn Dubh and the Glen Striddle horseshoe in the Luss hills. Up via Beinn Dubh with stunning views over Loch Lomond, then round top of Glen Striddle to top of Coire na n-Eanachan with views north up Loch Lomond and higher hills beyond. Followed by a descent to Glen Luss road. Encountering only one shower to prove the weather forecast wrong, and a bride and groom getting wedding photos taken on the hillside in Glen Luss!

Islands swimming in Loch Lomond...

Summit of Beinn Dubh.

Finally we have JW, JI & IMcM visiting The Whangie and the Devil's Pulpit, 4km north of the Kilpatrick Hills, start point NS511808. A week later they are joined by ARod for a trip around the Loup of Fintry and Meikle Bin.

Interesting rock features on their Whangie trip.

On route to the Devil's Pulpit.

...Auld Nick is somewhere in here!

Fintry Loup this time.

Looking N to the Wind Catchers on the Gargunnock Hills.
...all we need now is for the snow to come - assuming we don't have a COVID Tier System in the way!
