The last week in September and first two weeks in October 2020 have seen varied trips by FVMC members in them thar mountains. First up, ARob visits Beinn Chuirn (near Tyndrum) in glorious weather during weekend of 27/09/20. Later on 07/10/20 AS was seen trudging the quagmire on Arran, in pursuit of Casteal Abhail and later Goat Fell. ARob again is oot and aboot on 09/10/20 on Ben Tirran from Glen Clova via Brandy, The Snub, Green Hill, The Goet (896m), Ben Tirran, Loch Warral discovering depressing news about the bothy there. Later on 10/10/20 he heads south to Carrick Forest to climb Shalloch on Minnoch (not being fooled that the Trig Point is the actual top!), followed by Corserine from Forrest Lodge. Finally that same weekend, we have AMc on Beinn a Chroin then An Caisteal for an excellent Sunday hike with a few friends.

ARob's trip to Beinn Chuirn from the Mine Road.

View to the NE from the summit.

ARob Standing on hill 776, being overlooked by Beinn Lui.

AS heads towards Casteal Abhail.

Dreich and boggy in parts!

...and there's always some drama!

...AS faces hard rock and soft mist on Goat Fell.

...but it does clear.

...a great trip in Arran.

ARob in Glen Clova this time, looking at The Snub.

Loch Brandy (but nae brandy!)

Looking NW to Lochnagar.

...what's this?

The bothy at Loch Wharral.

ARob at it again this time approaching Shalloch on Minnoch from Caerloch Dhu.

...so you think this is the summit then?

...no this is the summit at 775m (on the 1:25000 map), lying 325m SE of the Trig Point at 768m!

Better visibility on the descent from Shalloch on Minnoch.

AMc & friends on Beinn a Chroin and An Caisteal.
