General January 2023 Activity: Black Mount, near Biggar and Creag Mac Ranaich.

First up, a wee solo trip for AS to Black Mount, NT 07978 45991, near Biggar. At just 516 metres high, it was done in a couple of hours. Here’s a pic from the trig point.

Finally for January, BR and a former workmate JA, went on a bright and cold walk to Creag Mac Ranaich, NN 54558 25597, starting in the SE from Craggan. Pictured is the view from the southern end of Glen Kendrum with Creag Mac Ranaich upper right.

Everything was well frozen. They continued along the track to the left and made their descent down the burn at the top of the pic.

This was JA’s first winter walk for a while and is well pleased. The Tarmachan Ridge and Ben Lawers in the far distance.
