For once the weather gods deigned to give us a break and we enjoyed good conditions while based at the Jacobites MC's hut at Achnasheen. It's a fair old drive (200 miles each way) but we were rewarded with magnificent views of some of the great peaks of the north-west of Scotland. A cold northerly wind blew all weekend giving a bit of everything weatherwise including rain, snow, hail and a bit of sunshine too! Ten members attended and there was a mix of coastal and low-level walking as well as a clutch of peaks bagged. Moruisg, Sgurr na Ceannachain, Fuar Toll and Sgorr Ruadh were climbed on the Saturday.

Moruisg and Sgurr na Ceannachain were climbed by a different route by a different party on the Sunday whcih also saw one club member climb Sgurr a Mhuillin and Meallan nan Uan on the way home. Two others opted for a ramble into Coire Fionnariach bothy on the Sunday. Two members stayed on and braved the worsening weather to ascend Beinn Liath Mor on the Monday. Fortunately they chose to head up Coire Lair and aim for the summit rather than try to traverse the ridge which would have been a trifle ambitious in the wind and frequent hail showers. Clearly it will be winter on the hills for a while yet!
