On 08/07/21 PB reached Monar Dam at the end of a 13 mile cycle up a private tarmac road running along Glen Strathfarrer. The road has a fairly gentle gradient rising to around 250 metres but it still took him the best part of 2 hours to cycle. Having set up tent, he rested for his climb of An Sidhean (An Sithean) the following day.

The following day, 09/07/21, PB takes a summit selfie @10.00. Misty and no visibility…he could have used both eyes though?

Clearing on the descent you might see PB’s tent to the right of the three trees?

Narrow ravine down to Monar Lodge where PB left his bike.

Braulen Lodge on the cycle back east to the car.
About the same time, AS was down in Wales for a few days and had a tough seven hours out on Crib Goch, Garnedd Ugain and Snowdon. Cloud cover hid much of the considerable exposure on Crib Goch and Garnedd Ugain scrambles. Not much opportunity for pix. Snowdon summit was like Picadilly Circus! With CB and SB.

Classic Snowdon summit approach…

…scrambling in mist always leaves that niggling question ‘…is this the right way?’

…the walk back.
