Five members attended this meet to the Edinburgh JMCS hut (The Smiddy) at Dundonnell near Ullapool.

The weather was mixed to say the least.

Early arrivals Malcolm and Allan climbed Sail Mhor via the amazing Ardessie Burn on the Friday afternoon in dry but gloomy conditions. Amazing viewpoint into ''Whitbread wilderness'' and out to sea.

Gordon G repeated this route on the Saturday while John I and Jonathon H had a longish day on An Teallach, descending to the Ardessie Burn (just for a change of scenery from the regular route).

Meanwhile Allan and Malcolm had a cloudy and rather dreich ascent of Sgurr Breac and A Chailleach in the Fannichs (also using a variation on the recommended descent route).

It really would be better to read the guidebook PRIOR to an ascent!

Sunday dawned bright and breezy with new snow on the highest tops. Yes, really, new snow in June!

Malcolm and Allan climbed Ben Wyvis and the view stretched from the North Sea via the Cairngorms and Lochaber to Assynt. Wow. This must be one of the best viewpoints in Scotland.

The others were last spotted booting up to tackle Beinn Liath Mor a Ghuibhas Li above Altguish.

A good meet at a great hut.
