Five FVMC members had an enjoyable weekend at Strawberry Cottage in Glen Affric. Paul climbed Sgorr na Diollaid on Friday early afternoon and on the way down met Marion and Gordon on the way up! Paul retired to Slaters in Cannich for dinner and met Brian and Kathrin who passed on the key for the cottage. Paul then cycled from the road end to the cottage arriving about 21.30. Gordon and Marion arrived by bike about 45 minutes later and Brian and Kathrin appeared after midnight having walked from the car park to the cottage.

On the Saturday Paul, Gordon and Marion set off to climb two Corbetts to the south of Loch Affric namely Aonach Shasuinn and Carn a’ Coire Gairbh. This took just over 7.5 hours. Brian and Kathrin went Munro bagging claiming Carn Eige, Mam Sodhail and Beinn Fhionlaidh.

On the Sunday Paul, Gordon and Marion retreated to the car park and returned home whilst Brian and Kathrin continued their Munro bagging adding Sgurr nan Ceathramhan and An Socach to their list.

The weather was fine with good views on both Friday and Saturday. An enjoyable week end a pity more could not join us.
