A broad range of activities this month covering all hill categories including camping, cycling and throwing yourself off a high platform.

Early in the month, 05/05/21, AMc did his first Munro solo ascent, Schiehallion.

Looking NW to Dunalastair Reservoir.

…and time left over for a bungee jump in Kilikrankie – a novel way to mark his first solo ascent of a Munro!

On 07/05/21 BR & JI head off to Tyndrum to do the Corbett Beinn Chuirn and the neighbouring Graham Meall Odhar. Here is JI on top of Meall Odhar with their last climb, Beinn Chuirn, to the back right and Ben Lui way back left.

Beinn Dubhchraig and Ben Oss to the south from Meall Odhar.

Some interesting mine relics descending NE from Sron nan Colan.

On 11/05/21 AS & BR were oot on Meall Ghaordaid. Here’s AS on the southern slope with the Ben Lawers group on the horizon.

Again from the southern side but this time Ben Vorlich, Stuc a Chroin and Ben Each on the horizon.

On 19/05/21 PB had his first hillwalk since September 2020, staying for a week in Arran with a pal. They climbed Caistel Abhail via North Glen Sannox. A view of the Sleeping Warrior from tree line North Glen Sannox.

Caistel Abhail from Creag Dubh.

A happy PB at lunch.

Back to Tyndrum again and this time AS & GG go for Meall Odhar, previously visited by BR & JI on 07/05/21. Here we see a fine shot of Ben Lui with the shoulder of Beinn Chuirn in front and right.

On the weekend of 29-30/05/21 PB drove to Strathdearn and then cycled 7km to camp at a spot from where he could access the remote Corbett called Carn na Saobhaidhe. The highlight was coming across a new-born deer calf. He left Saturday 2.00pm and was home Sunday 5.00pm! This pic shows PB approaching Coignafearn Lodge.

Tea and breakfast 07.00 Sunday morning outside Dalbeg bothy.

Deer just given birth and leaving as PB approached.

PB quickly takes photo of new-born deer calf and leaves.

Summit cairn of Carn na Saobhaidhe.

A happy sight…mother deer returns to calf.
