November was an unusual month in that we had two Day Walks as opposed to one Day Walk and a Weekend Meet. There was still plenty of activity from FVMC Members on walks outside club organised ones covering Grahams, Corbetts…and Greek crags!

First up is a trip made on 01/11 to the Ochils by BR, ARod, IMcM & JW on a beautifully bright cold day. Here we look down to Glenquey Reservoir from Innerdownie.

After a traverse of Bentie Knowe, Whitewisp and Tarmangie the group reach the double top of King’s Seat.

The day ended with a descent past Castle Campbell.

On 03/11 was GG & AS were in pursuit of Meall nan Gabhar (NN 23788 23459). This provided some great views; this one looking back north west at the Dalmally Horseshoe of Beinn Cruachan on the left and Beinn a Cochuill and Beinn Eunaich to the right.

This one too of the Crianlarich hills from near Meall nan Ghabhar summit.

Also on 03/11, new member LM had a great day climbing Ben Ledi, seen her on the summit experiencing significant windchill!

Followed by a descent down it’s northern ridge to Stank Glen.

On 10/11 AS & GG were at it again, this time on misty Ben Donich, near Arrochar. They were up and down in just over three and a half hours via the north ridge. Nobody told them about the bad step three-quarters of the way up (a greasy schist downclimb when ascending; easier climbing up it on the way back down if that makes sense!) It is situated pictured here on a wee crag amongst the many fissures on this hill.

A view of The Cobbler from the top.

On 15/11 AS & GG GG & AS and I climbed Beinn a Mhanaich above Loch Long. Some banks of low cloud but dry and largely sunny affording some nice views.

On 17/11 LM was further afield, this time on Beinn Sgritheall, treated to fog banks & broken spectres on the summit.

Beautiful views across to Knoydart on the descent.

On 21/11 CP…rock devil, could be found, not here, but in sunny Kokkinovrachos, Greece – climbing in Sector Hermes!

CP wonders if they had packed the Tunnocks Caramel Wafers?

On 23/11 AS & GG climbed Cam Chreag, a Corbett in Glen Lyon. A good estate track facilitated gaining height steadily, with it veering off just short of a tin hut. Followed by an easy slope, then over onto a broad ridge leading to the summit. The best pic of the day was a large flock of ptarmigan!

On 25/11 LM climbed the Corbett Beinn Each from Loch Lubnaig with much evidence of winter arriving.

Behind LM, looking north east to Stuc a Chroin from Ben Each summit, glimpsing Lochan a Chroin on it’s southern flank.
