There was no monthly weekend meet in October following the recent decision to shelve such activity until the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic situation becomes clearer. Two planned day meets, to Buachaille Etive Mor and The Brack were cancelled owing to the weather forecast but a trip to Beinn a Ghlo went ahead as planned. Some individual trips were flagged up on the members' private Facebook page. No doubt there were other outings that remain unpublished. Mid-month AS and GG saw a golden eagle on a windy ascent of Beinn Pharlagain (Corbett) near Rannoch Station. Lots of low cloud but dry all day. Around the same time PB was turned back on Beinn Bharrain on the west side of Arran by a combination of wind and rain. Towards the end of the month that hill was climbed by AS, BR, GG and GB although they all got thoroughly soaked by heavy rain on the descent. New member LM walked a 15 mile section of the Speyside Way reaching a high point of 570m on Carn Daimh then did the route in reverse the following day to get back to her transport! AS sat out bad weather in Snowdonia to bag lowly Clogwyn Mawr and then the much more respectable Moel Siabod which would be a high Corbett if it was in Scotland. Meanwhile, on the way to Skye ARob made a quick diversion to Glen Loy for an ascent of Beinn Bhan where he encountered an early taste of winter with a dusting of snow on the high ground.
